Arcimboldo People

This area is under construction, but just so that your visit to this page won't have been in vain, here are two images from my collection. In library parlance, these figures are grotesques, but that seems rather unkind...

17th-century French grotesque figure,
composed of vegetation and gardening tools

Statue of Liberty composed of vegetables;
her tablet is labeled 'Menu'

Viriditas!

I constructed this sculpture of an Arcimboldo-style Statue of Liberty composed of vegetables to photograph for a poster graphic for a 1995 exhibit entitled CONSUMED: America's Passion for Food. She was on display in our front yard for our neighborhood's Fourth of July parade that year. Fortunately, our rather funky urban neighborhood appreciates good yard art.
